Justin Alexander wedding dresses in Lancashire

Justin Alexander is our newest rail, and the one we added because brides kept describing a gown we did not quite have.

Shapes we currently carry: Basque (5), Ballgown (3), A-Line (2), Fit and Flare (2), Fitted (1). 7 more are on order.

What it does that the other labels do not

Restraint. Justin Alexander designs for the bride who wants a beautiful dress rather than a statement, and it does the quiet things very well: a neckline that sits exactly where it should, a waist seam in the right place, a train in proportion to the person wearing it.

If you have tried on a lot of heavily beaded gowns and started to feel like none of them are you, this rail tends to be a relief.

Shapes and fit

Our selection leans towards basque waists and ballgowns with a couple of A-line and fit-and-flare styles. The fit is the thing worth mentioning: these are cut generously through the bodice compared with some of the market, which usually means less taken out at alteration and a more comfortable day.

The styles carry numbers rather than names, which is a bit less romantic but makes them easy to look up if you have seen one elsewhere.

New in, and still arriving

Several of these are marked coming soon on the gown pages because they are on their way to us rather than hanging on the rail yet. If one of those is the gown you want to see, ring first and we will tell you honestly where it is and when.

Justin Alexander, asked and answered

Why do Justin Alexander gowns have numbers instead of names?

The house uses style numbers across its collections. It is useful if you have seen a gown on a friend or on the designer's own website, because the number will match.

What does 'coming soon' mean on a gown?

It means we have ordered it and it is not on the rail yet. Call us and we will tell you when it is due rather than have you make the journey for nothing.

Do these need much altering?

Usually less than you would expect, because they are cut with a little more room through the bodice. Every gown needs some alteration though, and we will talk you through what yours will need before you commit.
