Before you book
What actually happens at an appointment
Ninety minutes, the fitting suite to yourselves, and either Brittany or Gill with you throughout. Nobody hands you over halfway through and nobody hovers.
We start by talking. Where you are marrying, what time of year, what you have already tried, and what you are quietly worried about. A lot of Poulton brides marry at St Chad’s or somewhere similar and then move on to a country venue for the evening, which usually means a gown that has to work in a church and still let you eat and dance six hours later. That is a solvable problem, but it is worth saying out loud at the start.
Then we pull four or five to begin with rather than twenty, because too much choice makes the decision harder. You get into them properly with clips and padding so you can see the real shape, and we tell you honestly what each is doing for you.
No obligation, no pressure to decide on the day. Many brides come once to find their shape and return for the gown.
Money, plainly
What a gown costs here
Gowns start at around £1,100. Most sit between £1,400 and £2,000, and a few couture pieces go above £4,000. We would rather tell you that up front than have you drive over from Poulton to find out.
Several designers ask us to share their prices in person rather than online, which is why a number of gowns on this site read “Enquire for price”. Ask and we will tell you immediately, before you try it on.
Alterations are separate and priced once a seamstress can see what your gown needs. If budget is the pressing constraint, the outlet rail carries designer samples at reduced prices.
Timings
How far ahead to start looking
Made-to-order gowns take six to eight months, plus around two months for alterations, so a first appointment nine to twelve months before the wedding gives you room.
Shorter than that is workable more often than brides expect. Rush orders are possible with most of our designers, and the outlet rail carries samples that go home the same day. Tell us your date when you book and we will tell you honestly what is achievable.
Coming earlier than a year out costs nothing and takes the pressure off.

How long does it take to get to Cleveleys from Poulton?
About fifteen minutes by car on a normal day, straight through Thornton. There is on-street parking on Victoria Road West and car parks a short walk away.

What size are the samples?
About a UK 8 to a UK 24. We clip and pad at the back so you can see how a gown will look made to your measurements. Tell us your size when you book.
Do I have to buy on the day?
No. Appointments are free and there is no obligation to buy.
Can I come back for a second look?
Of course, and many brides do. There is no charge for a second appointment.
How close are you to Poulton-le-Fylde?
