Sometimes you just want to see the dresses. Not book anything, not commit to anything, not sit in a fitting room feeling like you owe somebody an answer. So we are throwing the doors open for a day. Come and look through the rails, meet some of Lancashire's loveliest wedding suppliers, and have a glass of fizz while you are at it.

Why we are doing it
Look before you book
Booking a bridal appointment is a big first step, and plenty of brides put it off because they are not sure we will even have the sort of thing they like. Fair enough. So come and check first.
No guilt
Browse the rails properly, at your own pace, without anyone's time being taken up. Look at everything, say nothing, leave whenever you want. Honestly.
No cost
It is free to come, and the fizz and the food are on us. If you fall for something on the day we will book you a proper appointment there and then.
On the day
A boutique full of people who make weddings
There will be balloons outside, a full rail of gowns inside, and a handful of local suppliers on hand if you want to ask them anything. Or you can ignore all of us and just look at dresses. Both are allowed.

The rails, all of them
Every gown in the boutique, out and browsable. Maggie Sottero, Sottero & Midgley, Rebecca Ingram, Justin Alexander and Hayley Paige, plus the outlet rail of one-off sample gowns at kinder prices.

Prosecco, obviously
A glass of fizz when you walk in, because it is a Sunday and you are looking at wedding dresses. Soft drinks too, for the drivers and the designated sensible one.

Dutch pancakes
Made fresh in the boutique and handed round as canapés all afternoon. They are as good as they sound, and they are the main reason our own families are coming.

Permanent jewellery
The bracelet that gets welded on and stays on. A lovely thing to do with your bridesmaids, and you can have it done on the day or pick up a voucher for later.

Bridal hair
A local wedding hairstylist on hand to talk through what actually works with your dress, your veil and your hair, and to answer the questions Pinterest cannot.

Bridal makeup
A wedding makeup artist to chat trials, timings and how to look like yourself on the day. Bring the inspiration photo you have had saved for two years.

How the day works
There is not much to it

Pop your name down
It takes about twenty seconds and there is nothing to print. It only tells us roughly how many people to expect, so we buy enough prosecco and ask for enough pancakes.

Turn up whenever
Any time between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 18 October. Look for the balloons on Victoria Road West. Bring whoever you want with you.

Have a look, have a drink
Go through the rails, chat to the suppliers if you fancy it, eat a pancake. If you see the one, we will get you booked in for a proper private appointment.

This is not a ticket and it is not a booking. Nobody will check anything at the door. It is purely so Brittany knows whether to buy six bottles or sixteen.

That is everything. There is nothing to print and nothing to show us on the door, so just turn up any time between 11am and 3pm and look for the balloons.
Bring whoever you like with you, and tell the friend who is also getting married. The more the merrier, genuinely.
Before you ask
The questions everyone has
Do I need a ticket?
No. Registering just tells us roughly how many people to expect so we know how much fizz to buy. There is nothing to print, nothing to show on the door, and you are very welcome to walk in on the day without registering at all.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Entry is free, and so is the fizz and the food. Some of the suppliers offer things you can buy on the day, permanent jewellery for instance, but nothing is expected of you and nobody will push anything.
What time should I arrive?
Any time between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 18 October 2026. There are no time slots, so come when it suits you and stay as long as you like.
Can I bring friends and family?
Please do. Bring your mum, your maid of honour, your whole group. Just let us know roughly how many of you there will be when you register, so we can plan for it.
Can I try dresses on?
The Dress Rehearsal is for browsing rather than trying on, because a proper try-on deserves a private fitting suite and a stylist to yourself, and there will be a lot of people in. If something catches your eye we will book you a full appointment there and then, often for the following week.
I am not engaged yet. Can I still come?
Yes. Come and be nosey. That is rather the point of an open day.
Where do I park?
There is free on-street parking on Victoria Road West and the surrounding streets, and a car park a short walk away on Rough Lea Road. Sunday is the easiest day of the week for it.
